During my time as a level design intern at Blizzard Entertainment, I worked on the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls. Diablo 3 is a third person action game set in a gothic medieval universe, with quick hack and slash combat encounters and tons of loot to collect.
My work on D3: RoS, showcased in the above video, consisted of:
- Design and implementation of in game events
- Scripting gameplay sequences in LUA
- Using Maya and in house tools to create navmesh throughout the expansion and fix related pathing bugs
- Creation and placement of small scale encounters, such as ambushes
- Documentation of events, locations, and their probability of appearing
